Ye Esther reports company harassment following husband's film critique

Entrepreneur and physician Ye Esther has expressed significant distress following online harassment directed at her company. The backlash stems from comments made by her husband, medical journalist Hong Hye-geol, regarding the film ‘Assassins’.

In a recent video on her YouTube channel, Ye stated that her company's website was flooded with malicious comments after Hong posted a critique of the film on Facebook. Hong had criticized the movie for what he described as the “insult” of a deceased figure through conspiracy theories, specifically regarding the 1974 assassination attempt on Yuk Young-soo.

Ye reported that employees had to spend considerable time deleting the comments, leading her to jokingly suggest she might stop running her business to avoid such conflict. Hong has since stated his intention to avoid controversial political or social topics on social media, focusing instead on medicine and culture.
