YEDAŞ implements LED lighting conversion across five provinces

YEDAŞ (Yeşilırmak Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ) is implementing a large-scale LED conversion project across its service region, which includes Samsun, Ordu, Çorum, Amasya, and Sinop. To date, the company has replaced 45,000 street lighting fixtures with modern LED technology.

According to YEDAŞ Operations Director Barış Demir, the transition to LED technology provides up to 50 percent energy savings compared to traditional sodium vapor lamps. The project aims to improve light quality, enhance night visibility for driving safety, and reduce maintenance costs due to the longer lifespan of LED components.

The company has set a target to complete the conversion of all street lighting in its service area by 2030. For the current year, YEDAŞ aims to convert 20 percent of its total lighting fixtures, a move expected to save approximately 50 million lira in monthly lighting consumption costs.
