Yeşilyurt Municipal Vocational Center Boosts Women’s Craft Production

The Yeşilyurt Municipal Vocational and Life Center offers ready‑made clothing and handicraft courses that combine theory with hands‑on practice. Participants, mainly women and young people, learn skills ranging from basic sewing and pattern making to traditional Turkish embroidery, crochet, basketry and doll making.

Products created in the courses are displayed at fairs, exhibitions and sales stands, generating supplemental income for families and preserving local cultural heritage. Municipal officials, including Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit and Council Secretary Mehmet Ercan, highlight the program’s role in fostering personal development, economic empowerment and social inclusion, describing it as a model of production‑oriented social municipal governance.
