Yeşilyurt Science Center Launch Boosts STEM Education for Kids

Yeşilyurt Municipality opened a new science centre aimed at children aged 4 to 14. Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit visited the facility, which was built with support from Turkey’s Ministry of Industry and Technology and the research agency TÜBİTAK. The centre offers hands‑on workshops, experiments and projects for preschool and primary‑school students, encouraging early interest in science and technology.

The mayor highlighted the centre as an investment in the future, noting that families can observe and participate in the activities. An official opening ceremony is planned in the near term, and officials expect the centre to become a hub for community‑based STEM learning in the Yeşilyurt district.
