Yeimar Mosquera registered with Vitória SC after documentation delays

Vitória Sport Clube has confirmed that Colombian central defender Yeimar Mosquera is now officially registered with the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (LPFP). The 21-year-old, who joined from Aston Villa on July 16, was unable to participate in the first three rounds of the season due to bureaucratic delays involving international documentation.

The club explained that the registration process was extended because additional documentation from international entities was required. While the club initially submitted criminal records from Colombian authorities, they were subsequently required to provide residence certificates and criminal records from the player’s previous residence in England.

With the assistance of Aston Villa, the necessary documents were obtained and certified under the Hague Convention to ensure legal validity in Portugal. Mosquera is now eligible to make his debut this coming Monday in the derby against SC Braga during the fourth round of the I Liga.
