Yeison Jiménez Honored with Mural at Colombia's Corabastos Market
A mural commemorating late Colombian popular‑music singer Yeison Jiménez was unveiled at the Corabastos wholesale food market, the largest of its kind in the country. The artwork shows Jiménez with a microphone in one hand and a basket of avocados on his shoulder, referencing his humble youth selling avocados in Manzanares, Caldas. National artist Miguel Klos designed and painted the piece, and the ceremony was attended by veteran genre figures Jhonny Rivera and Francy.
Jiménez, who died after his 26 July birthday, would have turned 35 in 2026. His posthumous singles “Dime que sí” and “Mala de profesión” have enjoyed chart success, and tributes have flowed across social media, at his grave and now in this public mural.
