Yekeh Kolubah calls for reconciliation in Liberia
Yekeh Kolubah, the former Montserrado County lawmaker and a prominent critic of President Joseph Boakai, has called for national reconciliation in Liberia. In a statement released on his official Facebook page, Kolubah urged citizens to prioritize peace, dialogue, and national development over the divisions that have persisted since the civil war.
Kolubah expressed regret regarding his relationship with President Boakai and promised to present a plan this coming Sunday detailing how such reconciliation might be achieved. While the statement did not explicitly mention the President, the announcement follows weeks of speculation regarding a potential truce between the two former allies.
Although reports of a reconciliation have circulated since August, neither the Executive Mansion nor the two men have confirmed any official meetings or talks. A formal truce would resolve a significant political rift within Boakai’s circle.
