Yekpare exhibition opens in Bursa

The “Yekpare: Hendesi Desen ve Ebru Sergisi” exhibition has opened at the Muradiye Quran and Manuscripts Museum in Bursa. Organized through a collaboration between Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) Faculty of Fine Arts and the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, the event showcases approximately 30 works created by students as part of their traditional Turkish arts curriculum.

The exhibition brings together the fluid color palettes of ebru (paper marbling) art with the mathematical and geometric order of hendesi (geometric) patterns. This combination aims to bridge the aesthetic heritage of Turkish-Islamic arts with contemporary artistic perspectives.

During the opening program, Professor Hicabi Gülgen delivered a lecture titled “In Pursuit of Beauty: The Aesthetic Language of Turkish-Islamic Arts.” Gülgen emphasized the importance of Bursa’s architectural and manuscript heritage and noted that such exhibitions serve to connect the past with the future. The program also includes practical workshops designed to introduce visitors to traditional techniques and strengthen cultural heritage awareness.
