Yelfan wastewater treatment plant inaugurated in Hamadan

A new wastewater treatment plant has been inaugurated in the village of Yelfan, located in Hamadan province, to improve local public health and sanitation. The project was completed with an investment exceeding 150 billion Rials.

During the inauguration ceremony, Hamidreza Hajibabaei, Vice President of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized that citizens have a right to a healthy environment and noted that approximately 600 million Tomans was invested per person for this infrastructure. He also announced plans to expand sewage collection and treatment systems to all villages in the central district of Hamadan.

Abbas Soufi, a representative for Hamadan and Famin in the parliament, highlighted the importance of stabilizing drinking water supplies and improving water quality. He stressed the need to secure more central funding to enhance the quality of life in both urban and rural areas.

Farhad Bakhtiarifar, CEO of the Hamadan Water and Wastewater Company, stated that the facility has a daily treatment capacity of 45 cubic meters. The project includes a 5-kilometer sewage collection network and serves a population of 175 people in Yelfan.
