Yella Beezy Allowed to Submit Limited Rap Songs as Evidence in Dallas Murder Trial
A Dallas County judge ruled that two songs by rapper Yella Beezy (Markies Conway) and one song by rival rapper Mo3 (Melvin Noble) may be presented to the jury, while excluding most other rap lyrics and an Instagram Live video from evidence.
Conway faces a capital‑murder charge for allegedly hiring Kewon Dontrell White to carry out the 2020 killing of Mo3 on Interstate 35E in Dallas. The trial is set to begin on Aug 24, and a conviction could result in life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty.
Prosecutors had sought to introduce additional tracks to establish motive, but the judge limited admissible evidence to Conway’s songs “On Ya Head” and “Keep It in the Streets,” plus Mo3’s track “2 Nineteen.” Conway’s defense maintains that the lyrics are artistic expression, not factual admissions.
