Yella Beezy's friend agrees to testify in MO3 murder case

In the capital murder case involving Dallas rapper Yella Beezy, prosecutors intend to call Jose Bodega, a longtime friend and musical collaborator of the defendant, to testify. Bodega, also known as Theodore Thomas, has entered into a cooperation agreement as part of a separate federal drug conspiracy case.

During a recent hearing, defense expert Julianna Moore testified that the deal provides Bodega with significant benefits, including the dismissal of a gun charge and the avoidance of potential federal sentencing exposure of up to 151 months. The defense aims to use these terms to question the credibility and motivations of the witness.

Yella Beezy, born Markies Conway, has pleaded not guilty to charges that he hired Kewon White to kill fellow rapper MO3 (Melvin Noble) in November 2020. White was previously convicted for the shooting, which occurred on Interstate 35E in Dallas. The prosecution's case involves various forms of evidence, including phone records, surveillance, and witness accounts, stemming from a feud between the artists.
