Yellow Cake science fiction film releases official trailer

The official trailer for ‘Yellow Cake’, a Brazilian science fiction film directed by Tiago Melo, has been released. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 26.

Set in Picuí, in the sertão of Paraíba, the plot follows a group of scientists conducting a high-risk experiment using uranium-based technology to attempt to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits diseases such as dengue, zika, and chikungunya. The experiment goes out of control, forcing a Brazilian researcher, played by Rejane Faria, to work with local miners to contain the potential catastrophe.

Starring Tânia Maria and Rejane Faria, the film has already screened at various international festivals, including the Rotterdam Film Festival in the Netherlands, and in the United States and Switzerland. It also served as the opening film for the 15th Olhar de Cinema – Curitiba International Film Festival.
