Yellow Rain Alert Issued for Southwest Paraná, Brazil

The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and strong winds of up to 60 km/h across dozens of municipalities in the southwest region of Paraná, Brazil. The warning forecasts up to 50 mm of rain in a day and warns of localized flooding, falling branches, power outages and traffic disruptions. Residents are advised to avoid sheltering under trees, stay away from transmission towers and refrain from parking near large structures during gusts.

The alert, classified as a potential danger level, also coincides with an incoming cold front expected to bring the year's lowest temperatures to parts of Paraná, with near‑zero‑degree readings possible in some areas. The advisory covers towns such as Francisco Beltrão, Barracão, Pato Branco, and many others in the region, urging the public to follow civil‑defence guidance and monitor updates throughout the day.
