Yellow School restoration in Plovdiv enters final stages

The restoration of the historic Yellow School in Plovdiv is entering its final stages. The landmark Bulgarian Revival building, which serves the Prof. Asen Diamandiev Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, has seen its facade successfully restored to its original appearance using materials and colors researched to match the authentic plaster.

During a recent inspection, Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov announced plans to propose funding to the Municipal Council for the landscaping of the Academy's entrance area and the procurement of necessary furniture and equipment for the school.

Interior work is nearing completion, with efforts focused on preserving original stone walls and structural elements. The project, coordinated with the National Institute of Immovable Cultural Heritage, includes the installation of custom wooden joinery and the restoration of the building's historic gate. While the current phase is concluding, the restoration process has been a long-term endeavor, with significant efforts dating back to 2017.
