Yellow weather alert issued for Campania as thunderstorms expected Sunday

The Campania regional Civil Protection authority issued a yellow weather alert for part of the region on Sunday, 12 July, valid from 13:00 to 20:00. The alert covers the Alto Volturno‑Matese area, Alta Irpinia‑Sannio, and the Tusciano‑Alto Sele zones. The forecast calls for sudden, intense local showers, possible hail, strong wind gusts and lightning. Authorities warned of hydro‑geological risks including flash flooding, river overflows, road water‑logging, landslides, rockfalls and damage to exposed structures.
