Yellow weather alert issued for Puglia and Molise in Italy

The Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow weather alert for the Italian regions of Puglia and Molise, effective Friday, October 30. The alert is due to expected rain and intense thunderstorms following a period of high pressure.

In Puglia, the alert covers the northern and central Adriatic sectors, including the Tavoliere, Gargano, Tremiti, and the lower basins of the Candelaro, Cervaro, and Carapelle rivers. In Molise, the alert applies to coastal areas. The weather shift is driven by colder currents from the Balkans, bringing risks of thunderstorms and hydrogeological instability. While most precipitation is expected to be light to moderate, some areas may experience more intense showers.
