Yellow Weather Alerts Issued in Mexico City and Argentina's Chaco Province
Mexico's civil protection agency activated a Yellow Alert for intensified winds and rain on Tuesday, August 4, covering the boroughs of Coyoacán, Iztapalapa, Tláhuac and Xochimilco. Wind gusts of 50‑59 km/h were expected between 15:45 and 20:00, with rain of 15‑29 mm and possible hail later in the afternoon. Authorities advised residents to secure loose objects, avoid rooftops and scaffolding, stay away from power lines, and drive cautiously.
In Argentina, the National Meteorological Service issued a Yellow Alert for storms in Chaco Province on Monday, August 3, effective from 09:00 to 20:59. The alert warned of strong gusts, hail, and heavy rain accumulating 30‑50 mm, with a second overlapping alert from 15:00 to 20:59 under the same conditions. Residents were urged to monitor updates and take precautions against the adverse weather.
