Yellowstone bison nicknamed ‘Spinny’ goes viral after footage shows disoriented behavior

Wildlife photographer Tammy Neufeld has captured viral footage of an injured bison exhibiting disorienting behavior at Yellowstone National Park. The animal, nicknamed ‘Spinny’ by observers, was filmed spinning in circles while standing in a river.

Neufeld noted that the bison appeared to have an injury to its right eye and seemed lost and agitated. While she frequently observes injuries among bison during the rut season, she stated she had never seen an animal act in such a disoriented manner, leading to speculation regarding a potential concussion.

Recent updates suggest the bison may be showing signs of recovery, with sightings of the animal appearing less disoriented in different areas. However, Neufeld reported that she had not seen the bison for several days following the initial footage, leaving its current status uncertain.
