Yemen: Analyst criticizes political infighting amid Houthi battles

Political analyst Najib al-Kaldi has issued a sharp critique regarding the behavior of certain individuals associated with the Southern Transitional Council amidst ongoing fighting against Houthi militias. Al-Kaldi condemned what he described as a dangerous deviation in political discourse, specifically targeting those who have expressed gloating or ill will toward anti-Houthi forces fighting on the front lines.

The criticism focuses on individuals who allegedly wish for the defeat of opposing forces or celebrate casualties in battle to settle narrow political scores. Al-Kaldi characterized this behavior as a deep “moral and humanitarian crisis” that undermines political justifications. He emphasized that the soldiers on the fronts in the West Coast, Taiz, and Al Hudaydah are acting with firm will and that such political infighting will not diminish their field morale.
