Yemen appoints Ahmed Maher as Media Advisor to Transport Minister

The Yemeni Prime Minister, Dr. Shayea Mohsen Al-Zandani, has issued government decree number 69 of 2026, appointing journalist and academic Ahmed Maher Mohammed Abdullah as the new Media Affairs Advisor to the Minister of Transport.

The appointment, proposed by Minister of Transport Mohsen Ali Haidara Al-Omari, aims to strengthen the ministry's institutional media performance. The decree is effective immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Yemen.

Ahmed Maher is a prominent academic journalist who holds degrees from the University of Aden and is currently completing doctoral studies in Fez, Morocco. He was previously awarded the ‘Journalistic Courage Shield’ in Yemen for 2024.
