Yemen Armed Forces Shoot Down Saudi Drone Over Al‑Jawf

Yemen’s armed forces announced that on 26 July 2026 they intercepted and destroyed a Turkish‑made Bayraktar Akıncı reconnaissance drone linked to the Saudi‑aligned regime. The aircraft was shot down with a “suitable weapon” while conducting hostile activities in the governorate of Al‑Jawf, according to Brigadier General Yahya Sari, the military spokesman. Yemeni officials said the successful strike demonstrates the air‑defence capabilities needed to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
