Yemen bans entry and circulation of Iranian goods
The National Committee for Regulating and Financing Imports has issued a decision to ban the entry and circulation of all types of Iranian goods and products in Yemen. The decision, made during the committee's seventh meeting of the year, was cited as being in accordance with the requirements of the supreme national interest.
The meeting was chaired by the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen and attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade, along with various government and non-government representatives. Following the decision, the committee directed relevant authorities to take the necessary measures to implement the ban in compliance with existing laws.
During the session, the committee reviewed reports showing that import financing requests handled through the banking sector have exceeded $5 billion since the beginning of the year, primarily focusing on essential goods such as food, medicine, fuel, and production inputs. The committee also addressed customs performance at land and sea ports and approved temporary measures to allow importers to renew tax documents and commercial records to prevent trade disruptions.
