Yemen Defense Minister Taher al-Aqili's convoy attacked in Dali

Yemeni Defense Minister Taher al-Aqili's convoy was attacked by armed groups in the Dali Governorate of southwestern Yemen. The incident occurred while the Minister was visiting frontline troops and military units in the region.

Reports indicate that armed groups blocked the entrances and exits of the city, leading to clashes between the convoy and the militants. During the engagement, which reportedly involved the use of RPGs, at least one military vehicle was destroyed by fire. While casualties have been reported, the exact number of dead and wounded has not yet been confirmed.

The current status of Minister al-Aqili remains uncertain due to conflicting reports. Some local sources claim the Minister and his delegation are being besieged at the Bin Aboud military camp, while others suggest he may have been captured. Additionally, reports from Aden Time indicate that some of the Minister's security personnel and a high-ranking aide may have been detained. As of now, the Yemeni Ministry of Defense has not issued an official statement regarding the Minister's condition or location.
