Yemen's southern Al-Amaliqa forces redeploy to Shabwah and Ma'rib

Presidential directives issued from Aden and coordinated with the Ministry of Defence and the Joint Military Committee have led to a large‑scale redeployment of southern Yemeni forces known as Al‑Amaliqa. The troops, transferred from Aden and Abyan, are now positioned in Shabwah and the southern front of Ma'rib under the supervision of General Fahd bin Hamad al‑Salman, commander of the joint forces.

The move aims to reposition government forces, boost combat readiness and respond to intensified Houthi attacks on government and border installations. At the same time, substantial reinforcements of the “Dhar al‑Watan” unit arrived in Aden, described by local sources as part of an integrated security plan for several provinces.

In Shabwah, crowds welcomed the returning troops, waving southern flags and calling the Al‑Amaliqa the “shield of the south.” Analysts say the redeployment sends a strategic signal to the Houthis and seeks to close security gaps in liberated areas ahead of any possible escalation.
