Yemen football coach targets Gulf Cup success in Saudi Arabia

Yemen national football team coach Noureddine Ould Ali has stated that the team views the upcoming 27th Gulf Cup as a primary objective rather than merely a preparatory tournament for the Asian Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from September 23 to October 6.

Despite limited resources compared to other competing nations, Ould Ali emphasized that the team aims to perform at their highest level. He noted that the squad includes both local players and professionals, including diaspora players such as Demani Milor, who was born and raised in Manchester.

Competing in Group B, Yemen will face opponents including Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. The coach expressed optimism regarding the tournament's location, noting that the presence of the Yemeni community in Saudi Arabia will provide essential motivation and support for the players.
