Yemen Gas Company completes maintenance on domestic gas plants
The Yemen Gas Company has announced the completion of maintenance work on domestic gas production plants, which was carried out by Safar company starting from June 26. Production levels are expected to increase gradually.
During a joint gas operations room meeting led by CEO Mohsen bin Wahit, officials addressed the recent gas shortages. The company attributed the crisis to two main factors: production decreases due to the maintenance period and disruptions in supply lines between provinces, where gas tankers were being prevented from reaching their destinations.
A joint operations room, comprising the Yemen Gas Company and the Ministries of Interior and Defense, is coordinating with local authorities and security units to secure supply chains. Efforts are being made to pursue individuals targeting gas tankers to prevent the creation of artificial shortages that fuel the black market. Local authorities have been urged to strengthen road security, monitor gas stations, and ensure cylinders reach citizens at official prices.
