Yemen governors launch security briefings, appoint officials and prepare school year

Governor of Taiz, Nebil Shamsan, visited the Taiz military axis command to assess field conditions and combat readiness amid ongoing militia escalations. He emphasized heightened vigilance, coordination among army units and the need to counter militia attempts to reinforce front lines, noting recent heavy losses for militias on the Hays front.

Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, issued a series of decrees appointing new general directors for several district administrations and executive offices, including heads for Brega, Al‑Ma’la, Tawah, and Al‑Mansoura districts, as well as leadership of technical education, sanitation, finance, and public relations units.

Education Minister Dr. Azmi Mahfoud stressed the completion of preparations for the upcoming school year, highlighting the distribution of a link to ninth‑grade students to select academic or vocational tracks. The ministry aims for at least 20 students per vocational class, reports a 17 % increase in vocational enrollment, and plans to allocate 977 vocational sections nationwide. Additional initiatives include free vocational specialization studies, a facial‑recognition attendance system, and curriculum updates for agricultural and engineering subjects.
