Yemen manages household gas distribution amid supply shortages
Authorities in Yemen are managing the distribution of household gas supplies amid ongoing shortages. In Aden, 7,400 gas cylinders were distributed across several districts on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The allocation included 1,800 cylinders each for the Mansoura and Dar Sad districts, 900 for Al-Mualla and Al-Tawahi, and 2,000 cylinders through direct sales at gas company showrooms.
In the Abyan governorate, the Director General of the Yafaa Rusud district, Sheikh Yaser Abdullah Al-Amoudi, visited the Al-Qarah household gas factory to oversee distribution processes. The visit comes as the region faces significant supply deficits. The factory manager, Sheikh Salem Abadi Al-Saadi, reported that the factory's allocation from the Yemen Gas Company in Marib has dropped from 12 trailers to just three, creating a substantial gap between supply and the high demand of the local population. Al-Amoudi has called on the Yemen Gas Company and relevant authorities to increase the factory's quota to alleviate citizen suffering.
