Yemen Minister calls on scholars to counter Houthi ideology

Sheikh Turki bin Abdullah al-Wada'i, the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, has called upon religious scholars, preachers, and guides to fulfill their religious responsibility in addressing Houthi ideology. In a statement shared via social media, al-Wada'i emphasized the need to intensify religious efforts, particularly in liberated areas, to expose what he described as deviant ideas and extremist rhetoric promoted by the Houthi militia.

The Minister stated that religious discourse must work to refute misleading narratives that target the community's creed, awareness, and national identity. He accused the Houthi militia of utilizing religion to serve political, authoritarian, and regional projects, using religious discourse as a tool for mobilization and maintaining conflict.

Al-Wada'i highlighted the importance of promoting a moderate approach based on religious evidence and urged special attention be given to children and youth through intellectual immunization programs to protect their identity and religious awareness.
