The Yemeni national arm wrestling and physical strength team met with Abdulraouf Al-Saqqaf, the Undersecretary of Aden for Youth Affairs, to discuss preparations for the upcoming World Arm Wrestling Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place in India from October 26 to November 7, 2026.

Four athletes will represent Yemen in the competition: Elias Basil (65 kg) from Aden, Osama bin Qarmous (75 kg) from Seiyun, Abdullah Al-Aqrabbi (90 kg) from Aden, and Hussein Baqima (110 kg) from Mukalla. Al-Saqqaf conveyed the support of Aden Governor Abdulrahman Sheikh for athletes participating in international events despite the country's current challenges.

Arhab Hassan Yassin, President of the Yemen General Federation for the sport, highlighted the team's previous success at the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where they secured three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. The federation has organized three local tournaments since its establishment in 2022.
