Presidential Leadership Council warns against Houthi espionage

The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council has issued a stern warning against espionage and cooperation with the Houthi militias. The Council declared that spying, financing Houthi activities, or providing intelligence and resources to the group are serious crimes that warrant legal accountability under existing constitutional and national laws.

Security, military, and judicial authorities have been instructed to take urgent legal action against those involved. The Council emphasized that the state will act decisively against anyone undermining national security, sovereignty, or the capabilities of the armed forces. Notably, the Council stated that holding official, military, or influential positions provides no immunity from prosecution.

For certain crimes against state security, penalties can include the death penalty. The Council also urged citizens and state employees to use official channels to report any information regarding Houthi financing or espionage, promising measures to protect whistleblowers and witnesses.
