Yemen Prime Minister Shuaib Al‑Zindani backs independence of Social Fund for Development
The board of Yemen's Social Fund for Development met in the temporary capital Aden, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Shuaib Mohsen Al‑Zindani. The meeting reviewed the fund’s ongoing projects, performance and institutional efficiency, and addressed technical and administrative requirements linked to donor commitments.
Al‑Zindani reaffirmed the government’s commitment to keep the fund’s operational independence as a “red line,” stressing that this autonomy is essential for maintaining donor confidence, transparency and accountability. He highlighted steps to ensure smooth continuation of contracts after the fund’s headquarters were moved to Aden and pledged to expand financing for priority development projects across Yemen’s governorates, free from political interference.
