Yemen: Secret understandings aim to neutralize Marib front

Diplomatic sources have revealed undisclosed understandings between parties affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Houthi militia aimed at neutralizing military confrontations in the Marib governorate. These arrangements, reportedly mediated by Ahmed Mohsen bin Aboud under Qatari supervision, seek to keep Marib and the Safer facility outside the scope of direct military escalation.

This strategic shift would allow the Houthis to reduce pressure on the eastern front and redirect military and human resources toward western and southern axes, specifically targeting Taiz, the West Coast, and areas extending toward the Bab al-Mandab strait. The involvement of Qatar is noted as central to these arrangements, utilizing its communication channels with various Yemeni factions to influence the distribution of military pressure and the paths of confrontation on the ground.
