Yemen transplant patients appeal for urgent medicine supplies
More than 300 kidney and liver transplant patients in Aden and other liberated governorates in Yemen are facing a critical shortage of essential post-operative medications. Patients and their families have issued an urgent appeal to the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasim Buhaybah, to intervene.
Reports indicate that delays and irregularities in the distribution of these life-saving drugs pose a direct threat to patients, as any interruption in treatment can lead to organ failure or severe complications. Many patients are unable to afford these medications from private pharmacies due to high costs and deteriorating living conditions. The appeal calls for an immediate investigation into the supply and distribution mechanisms to ensure a steady and sufficient supply of necessary treatments.
