Yemen Transport Minister addresses Al-Mocha battle loss

Yemeni Transport Minister Mohsen Haidara al-Omari has responded to the loss of the battle in Al-Mocha, stating that the setback does not signify the end of the war. Responding to comments by Shura Council President Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, who called for acknowledging the defeat to the Yemeni people, al-Omari emphasized the need to maintain morale and trust in the political leadership, the armed forces, and the support of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Omari described the loss in Al-Mocha as unexpected and painful but argued that wars inherently involve losses. He drew historical parallels to the Battle of Uhud to illustrate that setbacks can serve as tests of resolve rather than final defeats. He noted that previous losses in Sana'a, Aden, and Marib did not result in the collapse of the state, citing the eventual return of government institutions and services to Aden as evidence of resilience.

Bin Daghr had previously suggested that while the current phase is not for mourning, it is essential to recognize the reality of the loss in Al-Mocha to help reorganize and regain initiative. He noted that the war is still in its early stages and that outcomes cannot be determined by initial results.
