Yemen Transport Minister stresses youth role in port development

Yemeni Transport Minister Mohsen Haidara Al-Omari emphasized the necessity of investing in youth training to achieve sustainable development within the port sector. Speaking via video link at the third regional OASIS Forum in Amman, Jordan, Al-Omari highlighted that the efficiency of port management is directly linked to the professional capabilities of young human resources.

The Minister also addressed the geopolitical tensions affecting maritime security from the Strait of Hormuz to Bab al-Mandab. He criticized Houthi militia attacks on international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, linking these escalations to Iran and terrorist groups in Somalia and Yemen. Al-Omari noted that Yemen's strategic location makes it a central pillar in the ongoing regional conflict and stressed that protecting national maritime assets is essential for restoring Yemen's leading role in global trade.
