Yemen tribal mediation resolves two homicide disputes

Tribal mediation efforts in Yemen have successfully resolved two separate cases of homicide through traditional reconciliation and forgiveness.

In Hajjah Governorate, security director Brigadier General Hassan al-Qasimi led a mediation process in the Mabyan district between the Al-Khashib and Al-Abali families. The dispute, which stemmed from an accidental killing, was settled after the victim's family granted forgiveness to the perpetrator, Abdul-Jabbar al-Khashib, citing religious values and social harmony.

In the Sanaa Governorate, a separate mediation effort overseen by Governor Abdul Basit al-Hadi resolved a conflict between the Al-Oubli and Al-Hamati tribes in the Sanhan district. Following the guidance of local leadership and tribal elders, the victim's family accepted tribal arbitration to end the dispute involving the death of Jawas Hamid al-Hamati. These reconciliations were conducted in accordance with local customs and calls for social stability.
