Yemen war kills 24 civilians and fighters in Hodeidah and Taiz

An unexploded ordnance device detonated in the Al‑Durayhimi district of Hodeidah Governorate, killing four civilians and wounding six more, all members of a single family. A separate land‑mine blast in the northern Jirah district also caused a civilian death. The United Nations has repeatedly warned that remnants of war are responsible for a large share of civilian casualties in Yemen, and Hodeidah is among the provinces most affected.

In a separate incident, fighting between Yemeni joint forces (the 43rd brigade of the National Resistance) and Ansar Allah militants in Taiz Governorate resulted in 14 people killed or wounded. The clashes occurred around the Barh area west of Taiz city and in the mountainous Jabal Han region, following a recent exchange of fire that began after a Yemeni soldier was killed.

Both events illustrate the ongoing intensity of the Yemeni civil war, which has persisted since 2014, caused a humanitarian crisis affecting roughly 80% of the population, and continues to generate civilian and combatant losses despite intermittent cease‑fire attempts.
