Yemeni Armed Forces warn of unsafe Saudi airspace

The Yemeni Armed Forces have issued warnings to international aviation companies, stating that Saudi Arabian airspace and airports are unsafe, with the exception of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that the military maintains the capability to respond in kind to aggression and emphasized that their operations are defensive in nature.

Reports indicate that the conflict has extended beyond military fronts to target essential civilian infrastructure. Since 2015, airstrikes and blockades have impacted airports, ports, hospitals, and schools. Despite these pressures and the scarcity of resources, institutions in Sanaa have reportedly maintained a level of administrative continuity and service provision compared to other regions.

According to military statements, there have been over 274,302 total Saudi airstrikes against Yemen over the past 12 years, including more than 2,350 recent strikes and missiles following a period of renewed escalation.
