Yemeni Cabinet approves mobilization measures and economic resilience plans
The Yemeni Cabinet, meeting in Aden under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani, has approved a series of executive measures to implement a general mobilization decision. These measures aim to increase the readiness of state institutions and enhance coordination between government, military, and security sectors amid ongoing confrontations in regions such as Taiz and Lahj. The mobilization plan includes mobilizing human and material resources and integrating the performance of ministries and local authorities.
In addition to security measures, the Cabinet discussed economic and service stability, focusing on securing essential goods, ensuring regular salary payments, and addressing electricity shortages. The government also emphasized preparedness for humanitarian emergencies and the need to support displaced persons in coordination with international organizations.
Concurrently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade participated in a steering committee meeting for a joint European Union and OECD project titled ‘Enhancing Economic Resilience in Yemen’. The Ministry presented a strategic vision to transition from capacity building to field implementation, focusing on protecting food supply chains, developing national export policies for products like coffee and honey, and advancing digital transformation to improve the business environment.
