Yemeni Customs Authority concludes anti-smuggling training in Aden

The Yemeni Customs Authority has concluded its second specialized training course on intelligent risk analysis for anti-smuggling operations in Aden. Held from August 2 to August 6, 2026, the program was conducted in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The training targeted 16 customs personnel, focusing on the application of data analysis and artificial intelligence to develop accurate risk indicators. The objective is to predict suspicious activities and efficiently target high-risk shipments, thereby combating smuggling while facilitating legitimate trade and reducing customs clearance times in accordance with international standards.

Abdulhakim al-Qubati, head of the Customs Authority, emphasized the critical role of customs in protecting national security and the economy. He expressed gratitude to the UNODC and its international experts for their contributions to the training program.
