Minister Ahd Jaasous promotes women's empowerment and heritage in Aden
Dr. Ahd Jaasous, the Minister of State for Women's Affairs, conducted several high-level activities in Aden focused on women's empowerment and national planning.
During a visit to the ‘House of Folk Heritage’ owned by researcher Najla Shamsan, the Minister inspected over 2,000 rare artifacts, including traditional Yemeni clothing, silver jewelry, and tools used by women throughout generations. Dr. Jaasous expressed interest in transforming the museum into a cultural and training center to link heritage preservation with economic empowerment through traditional handicrafts.
In separate administrative efforts, Dr. Jaasous met with the Minister of Transport, Mohsen Haidara al-Omari, to discuss increasing women's participation in leadership roles and decision-making within the transport sector. Additionally, the Minister met with a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to align the ministry's 2026 priorities with the government's program. Key upcoming projects discussed include a comprehensive national strategy for women, the establishment of a Women's Development Fund, and the creation of a dedicated information center for women's affairs.
