Yemeni Scholars Conference rejects Mecca targeting allegations
The Yemeni Scholars Conference was held in Sanaa to reject allegations made by the Saudi government regarding the targeting of Mecca. During the conference, Yemeni Mufti Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din characterized these claims as attempts to mislead public opinion by exploiting the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques.
Sharaf al-Din argued that the accusations against the Yemeni people are fabrications and criticized the Saudi administration for using religious sites in its campaign against Yemen. He called on Islamic scholars and institutions to verify news and avoid being drawn into Saudi propaganda.
Scholar Alawi bin Suhail bin Aqeel also addressed the conference, accusing certain religious factions of undermining authentic Hadiths and the Quran. He asserted that the Yemeni people remain committed to supporting Islam and rejected the notion that they would ever target the Holy House.
