Yemeni Tribal Affairs Authority meets to strengthen tribal role against Houthi militia

The Tribal Affairs Authority held an expanded meeting led by its president, Sheikh Bakil al-Sufi, to discuss developing the authority's operations and strengthening the role of its branches. Conducted via video conference with branch managers across various governorates, the meeting focused on unifying coordination mechanisms and enhancing national alignment.

Participants emphasized the national role of Yemeni tribes in the effort to restore state institutions and counter the Houthi militia coup. The meeting affirmed support for the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council and the National Defense Council, stressing the importance of tribal contribution to the liberation battle and the support of state institutions.

To improve efficiency, the authority approved quarterly periodic meetings between the presidency and its branches, with provisions for extraordinary sessions. The meeting also called for establishing annual or phased plans that include specific priorities, programs, and implementation mechanisms tailored to the specificities of each governorate, alongside periodic performance evaluations.
