Yemeni tribes condemn kidnapping of investor Kamal bin Shaila

The kidnapping of national investor Kamal bin Shaila and his companion, Montaser al-Radfani, has drawn strong condemnation from tribal leaders and local figures in Yemen. The Yafa'i tribes, meeting in Aden, issued a statement describing the incident as a ‘cowardly criminal act’ attributed to a group from the Al-Muraqsha tribes. They warned that such actions threaten the investment environment and social security, holding security authorities responsible for apprehending the perpetrators.

Prince Ali bin Ahmed al-Fadhli also condemned the kidnapping, rejecting the use of force to resolve disputes. He linked the incident to broader attempts to illegally seize Al-Fadhli lands under the guise of investment. Al-Fadhli called for an urgent and transparent investigation to identify those responsible and emphasized that land ownership must be governed by law and official documentation rather than force or chaos caused by the ongoing conflict.
