Yemen's University of Aden Students Travel to China for Global Chinese Language Competition

Two senior students, Dua Khalid and Taysir Hisham Mohamed Abdu, from the College of Languages and Translation at the University of Aden qualified to represent Yemen in the Bridge of Chinese Language competition, the world’s largest contest for Chinese‑language learners involving participants from more than 160 nations.

Khalid departed from Aden Airport for Beijing, where she joined the official delegation and will attend a program that includes visits to the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and the Ministry of Education’s Bridge Center. Abdu is scheduled to travel to China in mid‑August to continue the participation, which also features the Global Robotics Conference and a subsequent trip to Xiamen to visit Xiamen University and the Jimei educational village.

The delegation highlights the growing Chinese‑language program at the University of Aden and the expanding academic cooperation between Yemen and the People’s Republic of China, aiming to develop highly qualified Yemeni graduates with strong linguistic and cultural skills.
