Yen Du persimmon harvest brings economic value to Ha Tinh

Farmers in the Yen Du region of Ha Tinh province are currently harvesting indigenous persimmons, marking a period of significant economic activity. In Mai Hoa commune, the harvest is expected to yield approximately 50 tons of fruit, with an estimated total revenue of nearly 2 billion VND.

Persimmons are being purchased at an average price of 40,000 VND per kilogram directly at the orchards. Local farmers are leveraging the area's soil advantages to expand cultivation, with over 40 hectares currently in use.

The region is notable for its century-old persimmon trees, which serve as both economic assets and cultural landmarks. Some farmers have successfully used grafting and root-blocking methods from ancient trees to expand their orchards, creating large-scale gardens that also serve as sources for high-quality seedlings and local tourism attractions.
