Yen Hoa authorities rescue student via boat during floods

In Yen Hoa commune, Nghe An province, local authorities and teachers performed an emergency rescue to transport a 5th-grade student, Mac Vu Thien, to medical care during heavy flooding on the night of September 19.

After the student suffered sudden seizures at school, rescuers faced significant obstacles as a local bridge had been washed away by floods. To reach medical facilities, the Yen Hoa Commune Military Command and school teachers used a small boat to navigate the Hoi Nguyen River, which was characterized by high, fast-moving currents. Rescuers had to use ropes to pull the boat across the wide river against the strong flow.

Following the river crossing, the student received first aid at the Yen Thang Medical Station before being transferred to the Tuong Duong Medical Center for further treatment. Local officials confirmed that the student's health has since stabilized and is no longer in critical condition.
