Yeni Malatyaspor relegated to amateur leagues

Yeni Malatyaspor has been relegated to the amateur leagues following a decision by the Turkish Football Federation Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK). The club failed to participate in its scheduled matches in the Nesine 3. Lig 3. Group this season.

The relegation marks the end of a 19-year professional journey for the Malatya-based club. During its history, Yeni Malatyaspor rose through the divisions, reaching the Süper Lig in the 2017-2018 season. The club achieved its highest success during the 2018-2019 season, finishing 5th in the Süper Lig and earning a spot in the UEFA Europa League, where they reached the third qualifying round.

The club's decline followed several challenges, including relegation from the Süper Lig in the 2021-2022 season and the impact of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes on February 6, 2023, which led to the club withdrawing from league play.
