YENİ Parti faces internal rift over İmamoğlu's proposed political model

Internal tensions have emerged within the YENİ Parti regarding its political identity and organizational structure. Ekrem İmamoğlu has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the current composition of the party's parliamentary group, criticizing the fact that most members are former CHP officials.

To address this, İmamoğlu has proposed adopting the historical ‘four tendencies’ model used by ANAP. This model aims to position the party in the political center by uniting social democrats, conservative democrats, nationalist democrats, and liberal democrats under a single umbrella.

While the party leadership is reportedly seeking to recruit new figures, particularly from conservative backgrounds, the move has met resistance from the Kemalist faction within the party. This group is reportedly opposed to integrating individuals from different political traditions, creating a divide between those wanting to institutionalize the break from the CHP and those seeking to expand to broader voter segments.
